- Each patient room or designated area is equipped with a call station. This station may include a button, pull cord, or other device that patients can use to initiate a call for assistance.
- Patient call stations are connected to wireless transmitters. These transmitters transmit signals to the display screen or watch pagers. Wireless technologies, such as radiofrequency (RF) or infrared (IR), are commonly used for communication between the call stations and display screen or watch.
- When the Patients will press the call button, the room or bed number will be shown on the receiver screen or watch. Nurses also able to check the calls by pager.
